Dmitri Gaskin

Dmitri (he, him, his) is an accordion player, composer, and arranger specializing in Klezmer music. He performs with Tsvey Brider, Baymele, and Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band. With his duo Tsvey Brider (“two brothers” in Yiddish), Dmitri has cowritten, arranged, produced, and released an album of new Yiddish song entitled Kosmopolitn, available on the Borscht Beat label. He has also performed and taught at several music festivals, including Yidstock, Yiddish Summer Weimar, and KlezCalifornia. Outside of Klezmer, Dmitri won the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Award for a contemporary classical composition. He studied accordion with Josh Horowitz and Alan Bern. Dmitri lives in San Carlos with his wife and their five goats.
