Deanalís Arocho Resto

Deanalís (they, he, she) was born and raised in Pennsylvania on Susquehannock land. He is a nomadic queer Boricua artist who is delighted to be back in the Bay Area and delighted to make their San Francisco Playhouse debut! Most recently, Deanalís understudied the role of Julie d’Aubigny in Revenge Song at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Last spring, he made his Bay Area debut as Leslie in the boldly sex-forward musical comedy Coming Soon at Z Space. Before coming West, Deanalís performed in Minneapolis as the queer heartthrob Atlacamani in Brujería for Beginners (20% Theatre Company and Lightning Rod). She was based in Chicago from 2013 to 2021, where her favorite windy city credits included Miranda in The Tempest (Oak Park Festival Theatre), Mopsa in Head Over Heels (Kokandy Productions), the title role in Luna (Filament Theatre), and as a facilitator for theatre-based sex education at For Youth Inquiry (FYI) and Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health. Deanalís earned a BFA in musical theatre from Ithaca College. Cancer Sun, Aries Moon, Libra Rising.
