Rising Stars
Here at SF Playhouse we believe theatre is all about shared human experience. Participating in theatre, for people of any age, is a rigorous, dynamic, exciting collaboration that stimulates the imagination, and encourages connection, creativity and hard work. However, in the current climate of school budget cuts and dwindling arts programs, the cost of attending professional theatre is prohibitive, and participation is limited for many young people. Rising Stars at SF Playhouse is committed to providing quality theatre education for our community, both in Bay Area schools and at our theatre in San Francisco.

Meet the Education Director
Lindsay Krumbein brings enthusiasm and expertise to Rising Stars, Education at SF Playhouse.
She has taught both English and Drama to diverse populations at urban high schools all over the Bay Area
for the last nine years, and currently works as a beginning drama teacher at Oakland Technical High School.
Lindsay has a wide range of experience in addition to her classroom teaching, including serving as School
Culture Lead Teacher, creating school-wide advisory curriculum, and directing and producing ten youth productions
over the last eight years, both modern one-acts and unabridged Shakespeare plays. Lindsay loves working with
students of all ages to build trust, and encourage risk-taking and leadership. When she leads professional
development workshops, she believes in a practical, hands-on approach, giving teachers concrete strategies for
integrating drama to take and apply right away. Apply for Rising Stars online, or,
