Tony Ortega

Tony Ortega is thrilled to be working with the San Francisco Playhouse! Tony is a San Francisco based artist and has performed throughout the Bay helping new works come to life, including Alter Theatre’s Ghosts of Bogota, Gary Soto’s The Afterlife, and this coming fall Jeffrey Lo’s Zac and Sia at Custom Made Theatre Co. Additional theatre credits include: African American Shakespeare Company’s Richard II, Anton’s Well’s Knives in Hens, and Coastal Repertory’s productions of Death of a Salesman and Native Gardens. Tony is a two-time Theatre Bay Area nominated actor and was nominated for Best Leading Actor in the Broadway World Regional Awards for Pablo Del Valle in Native Gardens. Tony wrote and co-directed Velorio, which premiered at PlaygroundSF. Tony co-founded City street Artists and is bringing live Theatre to the underserved and under represented areas of San Francisco. Tony is a film and voiceover actor that has starred and voiced local and national commercials. His recent film Bad decisions won the SF Film festival for best short film.
