Rachel Botchan

Most recently, Rachel (she, her, hers) directed and performed in the world premiere of Di Froyen (The Women) at Theatre for the New City in NYC with New Yiddish Rep. She appeared in over 40 productions with the Drama Desk and Obie Award winning Pearl Theatre Co. including A Taste of Honey, The Winter’s Tale, Uncle Vanya, And Away We Go by Terrence McNally (world premiere),  Hard Times, Vieux Carré, Toys in the Attic, Twelfth Night and  Richard III  for which she received the Bayfield Award for Outstanding Shakespeare Performance in NYC as Lady Anne. Also Off-Broadway she has performed with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene in several productions, most recently The Sorceress. With New Yiddish Rep she was in God of Vengeance. Regionally she has worked at  Two River,  Philadelphia Theatre Company,  Milwaukee Rep., Virginia Stage,  Cincinnati Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, among others. She is a narrator for Recorded Books.
