Phaedra (she, her) is a Bay Area actor, director, producer, teaching artist, and emerging playwright committed to telling bold, inclusive stories that celebrate the richness of the Black experience. She currently serves as associate producer and casting manager at SFBATCO and recently served as both understudy for Motormouth Maybelle and associate director for the San Francisco Playhouse production of Hairspray. Her acting credits include The Day the Sky Turned Orange (SFBATCO), Fat Ham (San Francisco Playhouse), The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and The Color Purple. As an emerging playwright, her original work, Sistah Friend, explores the beauty and complexity of Black friendship and womanhood. A dedicated teaching artist, Phaedra is currently working with SFArtsEd, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Pacifica Singers and Players, and SFBATCO. She is the recipient of the 2024-2025 Black Futures Award from Zaccho Dance Theatre and is a 2025-2026 New Black Voices Resident Artist with Lorraine Hansberry Theatre. phaedratboughton.com
