
Matt has performed in world premieres and at regional theater nationwide. At San Francisco Playhouse, he was in the all-Indigenous production of Cashed Out as Buddy Paul, alongside his daughter Louisa. He originated the role of Mr. Gatz in the world premiere of Gatsby: An American Myth, directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin, with music by Florence Welch, at American Repertory Theater, where he also played Tashtego in Moby Dick, including for a concert at the American Museum of Natural History. Regionally, Matt played Señor Costa in The River Bride (Alter Theater), Officer Lonnigan in Wonderful Town (Marin Theatre), and performed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease, and Damn Yankees (American Musical Theatre of San Jose). Other roles include Miles Gloriosus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Action in West Side Story (Mountain Play).
