Alex returns to San Francisco Playhouse after playing Minister Cai in Chinglish last season. Other work here includes La Cage aux Folles and A Christmas Story. National tours include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, directed by Walter Bobbie and The King and I, directed by Baayork Lee. Regional credits include The Headlands and Tales of the City, The Musical (American Conservatory Theater), Little Shop of Horrors, Gypsy, and Pacific Overtures (TheatreWorks Silicon Valley), The Great Leap (San Jose Stage Company), Miss Saigon (Westchester Broadway Theatre), Me and My Girl (Marin Theatre Company), and A Chorus Line (Broadway by the Bay). His choreography has been seen on many Bay Area stages, including San Francisco Playhouse, 42nd Street Moon, Palo Alto Players, Broadway by the Bay, and Hillbarn Theatre, for which he has garnered recognition as a TBA Award finalist and a San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle nominee.
